RESOURCES
FOR STUDENTS
We believe in the power of “prevention versus intervention,” there is never a way to prevent dyslexia but if you intervene now you can prevent the social and emotional stress that evolves over time. The Dyslexia School of Houston is the first good instruction that focuses on decoding literacy through innovative and structural literacy. We take pride in each and every one of our students. Everyone has their civil right to be literate regardless of their learning style.
A typical day for a student at Dyslexia School of Houston is split into three decks: a spelling deck, a reading deck and a writing deck. There is no homework! All learning and practices are done at school and if students choose to read for fun or at home, that’s 100% up to them.
There are three options to choose from while attending Dyslexia School of Houston, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM or 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Monday through Friday OR students can choose to attend after-school tutorials (A one-hour session 4x a week). Students stay with us for however long it takes to successfully complete our program, but we are here to support our students and their families even after their time at Dyslexia School of Houston. The majority of our students “age out” after second grade, in which we love to see them flourish at other private and public schools in the area! Contact us today to learn more.

FOR PARENTS
As the first true dyslexia school in Houston, we take pride in unlocking literacy – we believe if they can’t learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn!
Our ultimate goal is to provide parents with the right resources to better understand their child and get them on the right path, rather than the usual run-around from school districts. The sooner you can diagnose and provide proper instruction, the better.

FOR EDUCATORS
We know that structured literacy at the beginning of a child’s education can make all the difference in the world. Being aware of the common risk factors for dyslexia in your classroom and proper intervention, can change a student’s perspective on literacy for the rest of their academic career.
We partner with educators to help improve the literacy in students with reading or comprehension challenges, who are not receiving the proper attention in their given school in order to succeed. By recommending Dyslexia School of Houston to families searching for answers, you set another child up for success!

FOR STUDENTS
We believe in true inclusion and empathy for all of our students. As such, we are focused more on meeting each child where they are, rather than forcing every student to work at the same pace. If we believe one student needs more specific attention on instruction on any given principle, we do not leave them behind. Students with specific literacy challenges and/or dyslexia are properly given what they need to succeed academically (we also don’t assign homework!).
