Dyslexia affects as much as 20% of people worldwide and often goes undiagnosed. Encounter firsthand what it’s truly like living with dyslexia, at the new free exhibit “Experience Dyslexia: A Simulation” at The Health Museum. Although dyslexia is known as a learning challenge, those living with it often visualize and think differently than most.
“Experience Dyslexia – A Simulation” is a hands-on experience for adults. Participants rotate among four interactive learning stations that simulate various language-related tasks similar to those encountered in the classroom and workplace. Time has been set aside at each station to discuss experiences.
The simulations will last roughly one hour and will be held from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm and 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm on each of the following days:
- January 20
- February 17
- March 10
- April 21
- May 19
Thursdays are free for families at The Health Museum. Only 10-16 people can attend per session, so make plans now in order to not miss this incredible opportunity! While you’re there, be sure to stop by Beautiful Minds: Dyslexia and the Creative Advantage exhibit to learn even more about dyslexia and related literacy challenges. The Beautiful Minds exhibit runs through May 22, 2022.
Gather your friends and family for an interactive experience on the triumphs of living with dyslexia. From Tammy Spencer and all of your friends at Dyslexia School of Houston, thank you for your support and we hope to see you there!
